Ventilation has been strategically placed throughout the S-MX 5 boots at the ankle, heel, and forefoot that allow fresh air to infiltrate built up stagnant air. The large front instep and Achilles flex bellows keep the S-MX boots flexible for easy control operation. The sole of the S-MX 5 uses an exclusive compound rubber that has structured shank reinforcement to add support to the arch area of the boots. Dragging your toes in the corner happens which is why Alpinestars made the protective toe piece to easily be replaced on these boots. Alpinestars uses a quick drying polyamide lining that is laminated with open cell foam and high density contoured padding to absorb shock to the foot area. To keep the S-MX5 boots performing at their best Alpinestars incorporated a MTP mesh liner and an anatomical, removable, polyurethane foam foot bed that will keep your feet cool and comfy. Contoured shin plate protectors are injected with high modulus TPU for superior impact and abrasion resistance. Alpinestars unique multi-link control system provides advanced external protection and support for ankle articulation, limiting hyper-torsion, hyper-extension and hyper-flexion as well as providing Achilles and ankle impact protection. Wide, ventilated, heel counters extend to the ankle and are combined with a shock absorbing padded insert and self molding foam ankle protectors. Dual density, replaceable TPU toe sliders feature snap-in assembly. The new design provides more coverage toward the toe areas. Replaceable heel sliders and external side heel sliders are positioned to dissipate and absorb shock and promote sliding during an accident. Large front and rear asymmetrical accordion zones are optimized to maximize flexibility for maximum comfort and improved safety. Hi-tech microfiber boot upper construction with durable soles is designed for improved riding feel; features evenly textured rubber for consistent grip and aqua dynamic grooves to drain the water efficiently.
